Was the homemade yogurt made with sugar or splenda? Try keeping track of the foods that make you sick. I had to do that due to diarrhea, once I figured it was only if I ate fruits and vegetables, I just stayed a protein person. I will try these things again if they work that will be great, if not I wait some more and try another time later. Journals are good to help you figure out things. You do need to stay in touch with the nutritionist and surgeon about this until you get it resolved. I hope things get better soon, take care, and congratulations on the weight lose. Robynn welcome back was glad too hear your vacation was so FABULOUS!!!, To all the newcomers welcome, welcome, this group is the greatest one ever, and to all those who are almost at the other side ( specially you Barbara) congrats and the greatest luck to you all.. Well since the last time I checked in, Ive now lost a total of 64lbs!! Im 4lbs away from 400lbs, I feel so blessed.. Unfortunately Im not doing so well health wise. I went to my 1st post op with the dietician and it wasnt good at all. I really dont know what to do. I cant seem to be able to kick the nausea. Im lucky if Im able to get 2 meals in without wanting to puke.. Like yesterday, I was able to eat 2tblspns of grits with 1 tblspn of egg in the morning, then in the afternoon, I was able to eat 2 little watermelon pieces, but when dinner time came around I took 2 litle

spoons of homemade frozen yogurt, and ran to the batroom to throw up. As we speak Im so sick to my stomach, I cant stand it. If anybody has any suggestions please help.. Laurie,You need protein, it could be shakes, cheese, eggs, chicken, turkey, cottage cheese, yogurt, fish. This is what you really need for now, once your feeling better you can add in fruits and vegetables, stay away from the carbs if you want you weight to go away. DonnaLLLORY@... wrote:

Thank for your sweet words. I'm sorry to hear that you are struggling with your tummy. I had problems too...and became anemic. But Donna is right...you really need to focus on protein. I forgot how far along you are...have you been put into the protein stage, yet? Protein is the building block for muscles and healing...and so you need to make the ingestion of it your top priority.

I had difficulty with fruit initially, because there is a lot of natural sugar in it. You know that Carafate (or whatever it is called) that they sent you home with? The two bottles of liquid stuff (not the pain killer...the stuff for your tummy.) Try using it everyday for a few days...that will get your pouch to calm down a bit. Stay away from fruit and frozen yogurt. If you eat yoghurt, do the low carb kind, there is less sugar. You may develop a tolerance for it as time goes by...but you really need to get your few bites in as protein, not carbs.

Find something that stays down. For me, it was fish. That seems to stay down pretty easily. And, i know it has been said before, but chew chew chew chew. And do NOT drink during. All of those things can make you nauseated or cause you to vomit.

good luck!!RobynnDonna Jordon wrote:

Thanks, Shell. We've missed you, too. I know it's fast weight loss for the first 18 months...but that's what makes me nervous when at barely 5 months, I'm not gonig down much, if at all..

But, I'll jut believe, and get back on track...and hope that everything will work out for the best!!

Thanks,

Hello group!!I have really missed you all so much! I have not been able to get in here and read any of the post for weeks. I have been busy interviewing for a new job closer to home and am happy to say I was offered 3 different jobs with UCSC !!! I took one and will be starting on Monday. Today is my last day here with Marriott and its a bit sad. I love my job but just can not do highway 17 anymore. I am cutting my commute from two hours a day to 8 minutes!! Yep thats 4 minutes each way. I can even ride my bike (after winter) I am so excited to be working close to home. I would like to welcome all the new members!! I'm so glad you found our group and am sure you will fine all the information you need.I have no idea whats been going on in here and feel so apart from you

all. I am hoping that all changes as things slow down for me. Roybnn,I did read your post about bad habits and all I can say is Yes! yes! yes! I hear you, I've been there and I still go there. It is hard. I will tell you this though. I to lost weight every week for months then I would stop and not lose anything for like two weeks. I thought man is it over? Well what I found was it was during those times that I was not losing people would say Wow you keep getting thiner and thiner, I realized that during the time I was not losing my body was ajusting to my huge amount of weight lost. My body was reshaping itself. It was cool. Things were shifting lol. I have maintaied a 170 pound weight lost for almost 3 years now, its tuff and I am by no mean a perfect eater. I eat things I should not alot and then I do good. The surgery is just a tool, its fast weight lost

for the first 18 months are so then we become just like anyone else who has to watch their food intake. Shell

Robynn,

I lost a lot of weight made it to goal of 150 by 5 months, then in my 6 month lost only 7 pounds, never cheated, exercised daily, drank my water, took my vitamins, stayed with protein, was stuck at 143 for 3 1/2 weeks finally 141, then this morning my weigh day 143, because 1 to 2 days it's that time of the month. Your body just really slows down at this point and it takes time to come out of a plateau, so don't worry if you stay on track it will all work out. That's why we say use your first six months to really stay and track and get as much as possible off, it does get harder as time passes, but don't give up. We are here for you. Shell,

Congratulations on your new job. This group is great! Your so right about our bodies getting use to the weight lose and reshaping itself, then if you stay on track it will began to lose again. Take Care and I'm glad you'll be close to home, when the weather is nice you can ride your bike, take a walk and get the exercise in, that's great! DonnaShell wrote:

Hi All,

Just thought I would check in. I am lurking normally but have not had a

whole lot to say. I am still in limbo regarding my dx. Either MS or NS

- doing low dose steroids until something rears its ugly head far enough

to distinguish which disease it is.

Rose, I loved your photos and am glad to see a picture of you smiling.

I know you were not well at all for awhile.

Hello to all my old friends and to the new folks out there, I listen

well if you ever need an ear. I may not post a lot, but I am always on

the computer if you need me.

Take care dear ones.

Hey, Terri, it's good to hear from you. I hope you are hanging in there okay. I'm still trying to catch up on the messages I missed. I've deleted a lot of them, but some of them I really want to read. For a few days we hardly had any posts, then a blizzard to messages! If I go just one day without checking, I'm way behind. I've got my computer right in my living room now, and I still forget to check email. I don't how that can be, but it is. I hope you are staying warm & safe.

Rose,

Glad to have a reply. I have really missed being online with you guys, but on the days I have energy from the prednisone, I try to get something done in my house; in my life. Then I crawl up and drop for awhile.

The one thing I have been doing that is keeping me going, is once a week I am going to bible study. I have met a girl there named Gwen who had MS and she drives me. It is great to have someone here who can understand the things that I (as we all are)am going through.

Our winter has been pretty mild. No snow to speak of. I am ready now for spring. Take care and I will write again soon.

Terri G.
