Guest guest
Hi There, Thanks for sending the link to the LDN study and your follow up! For the last two weeks I have been doing much better and have practically tapered off prednisone, just taking 5mg a day now. I am contemplating trying the yogurt again very soon( with Goat Milk and Dripped). If the yogurt does not set me back I will also retry some food with Almond Flour, I could use some cookie treats! I am so glad I found SCD and this forum. Healthy and Happy New Year to all. Subject: Hey To: BTVC-SCD Date: Friday, January 1, 2010, 3:38 PM Checking in on you. Are you OK? Guest guest
There's alot of 's on this board now... weird! All the 's will just have to give you an update. I have a cold now which made my flare even worse with a fever of 101+. Sticking to chicken soup, yogurt, and 1/2 water1/2 orange juice. No appetite yet but things are starting to get better Hopefully this is the "grand finale" and it's smooth sailing after this. Killed my new year plans but there's always next year! Guest guest
be careful of the cookies, as anything you make out of almond flour that is a "dessert" will have alot of honey in it. When I am not doing so great I don't use any honey.. or if I get desperate i'll use very little. Does dripped goat yogurt taste different? I couldn't handle the yogurt when I made it from goats milk....must be an aquired taste.-UC - 1+ yearsSCD - 7 months 100% strict and 4 months restricted diet.Asacol - 5 pills a dayTo: BTVC-SCD From: kevinking114@...Date: Fri, 1 Jan 2010 20:21:59 -0800Subject: Re: Hey Hi There, Thanks for sending the link to the LDN study and your follow up! Guest guest
The Goat Yogurt tastes really great, you have to drip it overnight in the refrigerator because it is very watery. I use a lot of honey because I like the sweetness and can use the calories. I usually add it to carrots after simmering them in water. I will try cutting back on honey. Thanks for the suggestion. I usually ate the yogurt with some honey and strawberries. Maybe it was the strawberries and honey that did not agree and I just thought it was the yogurt. I plan to try the yogurt again in another couple of weeks if I have no further setbacks. Then I will retry Almond Flour. One step (food) at a time is what I have learned the hard way! Guest guest
If it's the strawberries that bother you try cut up ripe bananas in your yogurt. My favorite! Especially yogurt made from half and half.-UC - 1+ yearsSCD - 7 months 100% strict and 4 months restricted diet.Asacol - 5 pills a dayTo: BTVC-SCD From: kevinking114@...Date: Sat, 2 Jan 2010 13:40:22 -0800Subject: RE: Hey The Goat Yogurt tastes really great, you have to drip it overnight in the refrigerator because it is very watery. Guest guest
Thanks Marilyn, I will give this a try. I have been just drinking Welches Grape juice with water up to now but at 5 months into the diet I should try some Tropicana OJ. I also melt some butter on the carrots once they are "cooked". I usually add it to carrots after simmering them in water. For an additional flavor, plus a bit of sweetness, try simmering your carrots in Tropicana (or fresh) orange juice. Very tasty. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
