Restless leg syndrome ?'s

I have been anemic most of my life. I do tend to get more muscle aches, and cramping when my iron is really low. All in all, I just feel awful when it is bad. Although you get very exhausted, it is hard to relax. It defiantly makes sense how the dumping/malabsorption can cause anemia. Have they suggested giving her iron supplements? They may even help with her diarrhea, because iron is very constipating. They should, at least, give some bulk to her BM's. I'm sure you know, but do not give her the supplements unless your doctor tells you too, iron is very toxic to babies. I did take them when I was younger, but by prescription from the doctor. Also I would suggest if they do want her on them, to ask for a slow release type. They are much easier on the stomach. (I am on a slow release on now, and really don't have any side affects.)

Best wishes.

One of the sleep study results Zipporrah had was that she appears to

have restless leg syndrome and the doc said it often occurs due to low iron

levels. He thought that she probably had malabsorption issues due to the

dumping and that it probably is causing her to have low iron. Has anyone

else heard this?

Yes I've heard of this... but if that isn't it... you might want to try L-dopa/Sinemet for the restless leg syndrome at night... its worked wonders on our daughter... she no longer wakes at night moaning... she actually sleeps her nights...
