Guest guest
I used the three month wait to eat everything I was " attached " to. I think I may have gained a few pounds. Even after my appointment, I needed to eat a few last things and I did. I started the diet a week after my apppointment. I have lost about 21-23 pounds and have not been seriously tempted to eat my favorite foods. But I have to say that the scale goes up and down and I hate this whole process. Still the waiting has been good and I have had time to really think about this operation and consider deeply the behavior I will have to change after the operation. It seems like a slow process but I am amazed over how fast life passes. Lilka
Guest guest
Lilka, It does seem like a slow process, but it does give you a chance to make sure your doing what's right for you, and let's you have time to learn what you need to know as far as life changes so the WLS will work for you. I'm really happy, I had it done my health has improved, I feel energy I never had, I like the compliments and how I look. I started at 270 at orientation Nov. 2004, had surgery April 11th, 2005 and am at 143 that was 2 days ago, I only weigh 1 sometimes 2 times a week, because we all have a tendency to go up and down a pound during the week. So weighing week to week gives you a better ideal how your doing. Keep up the good work, and congratulations on the 21-23 pounds you have lost. Guest guest
Hi Lilka! Congrats on your weight loss so far, but don't let the scale get you down. Use the time constructively. Practice your after-surgery life now by cutting out all those things you cannot eat and drink after surgery (like caffine, carbonated beverages, carbs in general... things like that). Start taking your vitamins daily, and read your binder daily as well. It is, after all, your WLS "bible". So enjoy this time and keep the faith!
