Guest guest
Back from Mayo...No GI consult for Cole. LP's were a terrible experience for the boys. I do not know what they used to sedate them but my kids are a complete mess---they did fine with the general for the MRI---but this is not a happy house. Lots of abnormal eyemovements, fingers twisting, tongues protruding and they are pale and their dark circles are darker.....and The night we returned Zack jumped off the couch and said " help me " he began screaming, clutching his abdomen and could not walk. 50 minutes of this and I was about to call 911 when it resolved. 3 similar episodes the next day--all resolved spontaneously. Neuro symptoms were fairy prominent during the episodes. Extremites were mottled. I called the neuro at Mayo. The nurse called back and said it is pain related (to the LP)--give them motrin (which someone else said not to give them---and we never give it but I did). Today I had to carry him all day because he was hunched over and whining, shows me his belly hurts under his rib cage. It escaleted this evening-- came home and took him to the ER---they are there now. This is not a headache or a bachache. Does this sound like a pseudo-obstruction? He had pooped at least twice every day (he does usually poop more than that). This BM's were very mushy as usual (his are usually mushy as opposed to his brother who always has diarrhea). His belly is very hard, but he is still taking in fluid and food. has not called me and I am beside myself. Anyone else have problems with sedation for procedures (it was not general and it was Mayo---I presume they now how to sedate a mito patient). Thanks, Kris
