Cordyceps legal?

Hi Everyone,

My alternative doctor recently suggested that I take some cordycep tablets to

give support to my adrenal gland. I only have one adrenal gland due to the

other one being removed in 1994 because it had a tumor in it.

Cordyceps sinensis extracts from all-natural mushrooms. I've tried to find some

information about this being SCD legal or not but cannot find anything. Does

anyone know if this is a legal product that I could take on the SCD diet?

I have lyme disease and many of the herbs and supplements I need to take have

stuff in it that are not legal. It's hard to find some of the things I need to

take because of the ingredients in them.

Hope to hear from someone who knows about this soon.

Thanks!

Hey ,

My LLMD wanted me to take cordyceps too for the Lyme and Co.

Why don't you post the name of the product with it's ingredients and a link. I

have done some research on this subject.

Sadly, we cannot know for sure the process in which they dehydrate the mushrooms

and most of the supplements in this area contain some kind of binder like a

starch.

Hi Jodi,

Sorry to hear you too have Lyme. How long have you had it and how long have you

been treating it? What protocol are you using? Are you getting better?

I can't take abx anymore and am looking for a herbal protocol to go on. So far

I'm not too impressed with what I'm finding with the herbal protocols but am

leaning towards going with the Condensed Cowden protocol. Have you heard of

that?

Anyway, thanks for offering to help me know if this product I'm supposed to take

is SCD compliant. It's called Adrenal Essence and it's made by Xymogen. Here's

a list of the ingredients:

Adrenal Essence™

* Vitamin B6 (as pyridoxine hydrochloride) 25 mg, 1250%

* Pantothenic Acid (as d-calcium pantothenate) 50mg, 750%

* Cordyceps Sinensis (standardized 8% cordycepic acid and 0.25% adenosine)

400mg, **

* Panax Ginseng (standardized 27-30% ginsenosides) 200mg, **

* Rhodiola rosea (standardized 1% salidroside) 100mg, **

*PABA 25 mg , **

Let me know it you think it's compliant or not.

Thanks much and Happy New Year!

P.S. Fell free to email me if you want to share more details about the Lyme

protocol. Thanks!

Hi ,

> Sorry to hear you too have Lyme. How long have you had it and how long have

you been treating it? What protocol are you using? Are you getting better?

The suspicion between my three Lyme docs is that I have had Lyme and it's

coinfections for about 15 years. Probably how I first started getting REALLY

sick.

I am totally better. I used the Bradford Protocol along with Klighardt's

methodologies, homeopathics, frequency and resonance medicine as well as

mind/body work. I consider the diet to be the foundation as to why I responded

so beautifully to the alternative care. I do not poison myself via diet anymore

which opened me up to healing on new levels. Which is nice seeing that connect.

I am supremely grateful towards myself and all of my very very hard work!

What I deal with now is tackling high mercury and lead levels (heavy metal

toxicity, Candida overgrowth and Lyme and Co go hand in' hand.. if one neglects

to treat the metal overload one can relapse with the Lyme. This can explain my

systemic Candida issue as it feeds off the metals. But I find if I don't touch

-MY- candida trigger foods I am totally fine!) I am getting a FIR sauna and am

doing the slow route for chelation along with fresh diluted juicing.

I also have to take care of Sleep Apnea.

But with feeling better I have been painting and drawing again so I have less

time with the whole health thing.. which makes me grateful.

It's all a process. But I cannot express what a different life I am living

today..

> I can't take abx anymore and am looking for a herbal protocol to go on. So

Yes, I have heard of it. Someone from another list is doing it for herself and

her son. Apparently, it brings Lyme to the surface to treat in an easier

fashion. Also, makes testing easier like IGENEX. Cowden usually gives the

protocol before testing to coax the bacteria. Have you had a CD57 test?

I cannot take long term ABX as well as I get C Diff and usually end up

hospitalized. It is a nightmare. It took a lot of research for me to find the

right combo for Lyme and Co treatment. I am not very good with supplements and

I don't break it down well. Makes the Crohn's go on fire.

Have you checked out Zeolites at all?

Well, it has roots in it which makes it illegal.

Also, we do not know how they are processing the mushrooms themselves.

The fillers in general seem ok.

In general next time also type up the fillers in the capsules (that's usually

where they put all the garbage illegals in anyway) and provide a link.. that way

many of us can help you find out if it's legal or not.

Thanks for getting back with me regarding the information about cordyceps.

Disappointing to find out it's illegal on the SCD. Need to think about what I'm

going to do now.

I have been told that zeolites should come later on once I get into the herbal

treatment. I've read on the lyme forum of people having bad experiences with it

from not taking it at the right time in their treatment program. Seems there's

a right time to take it according to the different herbal protocols and

apparently you can't start too early. That's just what I've read, but I really

know very little about it.

Never heard of the Bradford protocol but very familiar with Klighardt's

methodologies. Would like to have ART done but we don't have anyone here in OK

that practices that related to lyme disease. I'd have to fly to another state

to get that treatment. I looked at the Bradford protocol that you mentioned but

it's way over my head. Curious to learn more about it though.

So glad that you got totally better with your protocols and diet. That's really

wonderful that you've been able to overcome this terrible disease. I've

definitely changed my diet and have totally eliminated sweets, carbs and pretty

much stick to the SCD plan. My gut is still a mess and the GI doctor still

can't figure it out. I am very frustrated and discouraged about the lack of

progress I'm making with my stomach issues.

No, I haven't had the CD57 test yet. I'm thinking of seeing an infectious

disease doctor here and have him run some tests on me to see what they can find.

I know these doctors don't believe in chronic lyme. I plan to just go in and

take the approach that I may have lyme but maybe it's something else. Hopefully

by doing this they'll do a whole battery of tests on me and I can find out what

co-infections I have so that I can get the right herbs to treat it. Sad that so

many doctors don't understand this disease, including infectious disease doctors

of all people.

Well, enough rambling on this subject. Thanks again for getting back to me

regarding the cordyceps. So many of the supplements I need to take are filled

with illegal substances but sometimes I have no choice but to take them. I want

to get over this disease so badly. It's really got me down physically,

emotionally and mentally. Not sure how much more I can take of it.

Take care and thanks again.

What your situation will call for then, is being absolutely, utterly,

totally and completely fanatical about every other part of your adherence

to SCD.

I have a supplement which cannot be compounded and which is definitely

illegal. I use it to control muscle spasm in my back from a back injury

back in 1982.

My alternative is codeine and a muscle relaxant, which leaves me groggy

and disordiented for days at a stretch, and then, just about the time the

junk wears off, I have to take another dose.

My illegal supplement controls the muscle spasm almost completely, with

no drowsiness.

I discussed the supplement with Elaine, because I really, really, really

wanted to do SCD correctly -- I wanted to get WELL! She said that she

felt that as long as I was fanatical about everything else, I should be

able to take my supplement (about 10 grams once a day). She did warn me

that it would take longer to see results because of the ingestion of

illegals on a regular basis.

Elaine was right -- it HAS taken me longer to heal, and I do have to be

extra fanatical. But I am healing.

So long as you recognize that if you are using illegals, SCD can't be as

effective as without the illegals, you have to do what you have to

do.

Lyme is nothing to play around with. Then again, neither is IBD! So you

must balance your treatments for each of those.

Hi ,

Disappointing to find out it's illegal on the SCD. Need to think about what I'm

going to do now.

Well, you need to weigh the pro's and con's for yourself.

I did not take it.

What kind of bowel issue or diagnosis do you have?

It all really depends on your personal individual situation.

One thing you must learn is there is no one size all fits policy with Lyme or

the SCD or health in general.

How long have you had Lyme?

What Co-infections?

What were your results after antibiotic treatment (did the test results change?)

How is your CD57 test?

Did you use IGENEX and Stonybrook?

Both got Western Blots?

Have you had extensive stool testing with a provocation and a rectal swab?

Have you had Lyme and Co testing with a provocation?

Heavy metal testing?

The list goes on and on.

Some people such as myself cannot follow one specific herbal protocol.

Trust me, it gets challenging.

So Lyme + Rigidity + SCD don't make a good mix.

Do your research and see what works for you.

Dr Bradford (which Klinghardt uses as well) developed a 3 part IV that needs to

be administered every 7 days. It sorta acts like bleach in the body and jolts

immune system. I will email you off list about the recipe. I had Herx'ing

hell.

I also had Neural therapy (along organ meridians) done with this as well as IM

injections.

The doc I went to does a specific amount of detoxing before the IV (so he uses

no benadryl) it is more expensive this way but is highly effective.

I know, that must be super frustrating for you.

All I can tell you is what I did.. and that is I was %110 fanatical for over 2

whole straight years..

Only recently I go out and even had a road trip.

If my plate has an illegal on it I can just move it to the side and be fine.

It's way superfly!!

I also do mind/body work which really helps.

Those docs are useless but if you're doing it to test many things besides Lyme

and Co go for it. If you want to dive more into the Lyme and Co subject though

you need to find a LLMD. Do the IGENEX test with a provocation and Western

Blot. Also, although dated get a CD57 test. Test your Adrenals, Thyroid and

now I am learning you should get a sleep study. I wish I would of done this

sooner. Seems to me good sleep helps the body fight. Also do stool testing

with a provocation, Urine Dysbiosis test and a rectal swab.

Can you find an LLMD in your area via ACAM.org?

Would you work with one in a different state over the phone that would write you

scripts for testing?

FedEX and DHL rock!

Seems to me- a good way around this is to meditate your intention into your

supplements.. You can pray if that works better for you... You do what you

gotta do!

Feel free to email me anytime..

It's possible. I am sheer proof of this. Sounds cheesy.. ehh like almost

feeling lactose intolerance coming up.. LOL. but yeah.. I dug myself out of the

catacombs of Crohn's, Lyme and so many other names.

Mind/Body work is an important key.
