Guest guest
You can have it written in I think. However, my son just aged out of spec ed preschool and he took a nap every day. Generally I think they let the kids sleep as long as they want...they dont' insist they get up. You could consider picking him up and bringing him home for nap. Or if you want him bussed home for nap, they have to do that too. Most preschools dont' do too much in the afternoon so him sleeping or going home to nap shouldn't be an issue. deb...mom to three great kids and wife to one amazing guy!http://www.lifeofloveproject.org/http://www.heartliftersgallery.com/ Crazy Lizzies!! Guest guest
Hello, I have a 3 year old little boy with hypotonia, poor balance, a suspected fatty acid oxidation disorder and autism spectrum disorder. He is easily fatigued and his diet is supplemented by 2 cans of pediasure daily. I am wondering about preschool. Due to how the autism is affecting him, he currently needs more than the 12 hour preschool that they normally have and I don't have the funds to privately fund it any longer, so it brings us to public preschool. Does anyone have an IEP with a nap written into it? I am really concerned that part of his schooling should be done around his normal 2 hour nap. Of course, this would not be standard for the school. My pediatrician agrees that the nap should remain at mid-day and for 2 hours. But how do I get the hours of education he needs? Thanks for any guidance.
