Pomy, I didn't have my license formally revoked, but I did have a cop who was on my case for awhile (justifiably) after I spaced out & totalled my car. My neurologist & I agreed that I wouldn't drive until he figured out what happened. After a 2-day sleep study including EEG & some other tests, he decided it was probably the Neurontin that I had been taking for neuropathic pain. Several other NS members had the same experience. He weaned me off the Neurontin & after almost 2 months, agreed to let me drive again, but only if I had not taken anything that could sedate me, like pain pills, sleeping med, etc. I later started Lyrica for the neuropathic pain & haven't had any other incidents.

The bright sunlight and bright lightes from the computer and cars make my vision worse. Going to see my Neuro in a couple of weeks hope to get some answers then.

,

Does your Ophthalmologist (MD) have you on Pred Forte drops along with Homatropine drops to keep the pupils of your eyes dilated?

This is so important with ocular sarcoidosis. We develop iritis and uveitis-- the uveal tract is the spiderweb ligaments that allow the iris to open and close to light. It is the primary tract for keeping the intraocular pressure down in our eyes- and if it's not functioning correctly because of inflammation-- then we can very easily end up with acute angle closure glaucoma.

I know many of us have the added insult of optic neuritis- where the optic nerve is also inflammed.

The symptoms of glaucoma can be painless- and it is the number 2 reason for blindness.

Light sensitivity, blurred vision, headaches, nausea, vomiting, are all signs of glaucoma.

The PredForte brings the inflammation of the iris and uveal tract down, and the Homatropine keeps the eye dilated. This makes it so that you don't have the senecia== adhesions where the iris adheres to the pupil, and then the iris can't open correctly. You may notice it when you look in the mirror, you'll see that you have flat spots in certain areas of the iris--- so instead of a round pupil, it's shaped weirdly.

Like any steroid treatment, the PredForte MUST be weaned down slowly. If you stop it abruptly, or don't use it as often as the MD tells you to-- you can put yourself into a glaucoma state and the rebound inflammation becomes even harder to get under control.

DO NOT USE AN OPTOMETRIST FOR YOUR EYE CARE! YES, THEY CAN TREAT GLAUCOMA-- BUT THE SERIOUS EYE DISEASES WE HAVE REQUIRE WE SEE THE MD EYE DOCS!

hOPE THIS helps,

Tracie

I have not had my license taken away yet. But, when i got my eye exam last month they told me that i would never pass the eye test for my drivers licens. My vision is good some days and some days i can't see across the room. The bright sunlight and bright lightes from the computer and cars make my vision worse. Going to see my Neuro in a couple of weeks hope to get some answers then. huggs karenMoish Pomeranc wrote: Hi,
