Guest guest
I am beginning to consider WLS and DS seems to make the most sense to me of all procedures being performed. I know Dr. Rabkin in SF does this and I think there are 2 Drs in San Ramon also. I would appreciate any feedback from those who have had the surgery in the Bay area with these or other docs, and especially what insurances were like to have it ok'd. Thanks for your help. Guest guest
Hi : I'm Tom, from Pleasanton. > I am beginning to consider WLS and DS seems to make > the most sense to me of all procedures being performed. Gee, for some reason, I have a hard time disagreeing with you. > I know Dr. Rabkin in SF does > this and I think there are 2 Drs in San Ramon also. The two in San Ramon don't do the DS, and they've moved besides. > I would > appreciate any feedback from those who have had the surgery in the > Bay area with these or other docs, and especially what insurances > were like to have it ok'd. Dr. Rabkin is a great surgeon, but he has contracts with only two insurance companies, I think. (Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong.) So, insurance can be a tough issue. I had my DS done by Dr. Anthone at USC in L.A., and I couldn't possibly be happier with my choice. In my opinion, Dr. Anthone is just about everything anyone could ask for in a surgeon. He's simply fantastic. I have Blue Cross Level Three PPO (which I pay for myself) and approval with Dr. Anthone was a snap. If you'd like more info, both Dr. Rabkin and Dr. Anthone have support groups on Yahoo. Dr. Rabkin's group is at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DS_PacificLaparoscopy> Dr. Anthone's group is at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ds_usc> Congratulations on choosing the best surgery, and good luck!
