Guest guest
Maybe you can try getting the pill, crushing it and adding it too his food. Other than that, I have no other ideas at this time. Sorry I hope you can find a solution, we go through this too with Grace. She now does not like her g tube touched so we have to resort to other methods unless she is asleep. He may be just opposed to taking something new, and will eventually get used to it. Best wishes.

Guest guest
, Yes,,he is VERY resistant to change. I will just have to force him to take it. He is especially resistant to taking it,now that he heard me telling the my dh,that I think the med is what made him throw up. He is always quick to pick up,on those things,,even when I don't know he is listening. He told me " I TOLD you that sticky medicine was going to make me sick ! " So,I told him that I didn't really think it made him sick,,whew,,quick back-pedal.Still waiting on neuro to call and tell me if I should continue giving it to him,or not. I read about your dd g-tube. How is it going now? It sounds like a behavioral thing, since you can do it while she sleeps. I don't know what you can do about it,since she is only 2,,does her Dr have any suggestions? Guest guest
Kim, Maybe you can talk to your son and explain that the medicine may make him feel better. Hey its worth a shot. When your neuro calls back, also let him know the problems you are having giving it too him. They may offer some advice. I do know that the Carnitor does have to be taken regularly to be affective. We are still having problems with the g tube. It now looks like she has some granulation tissue, so I am going to the pharmacy today to pick up the steroid cream. It may have been sore all along, and she just slept through the pain. I really hope it clears up soon. Dr.Cohen has been switching doses of her medications around to help her sleep. If it does not work, we are going to have to put her on a feeding pump all night. I am terrified what she will do "hooked up" all night. Well, gotta go, my six year old is destroying my kitchen.
