Guest guest
Hi, everybody. I want you all to know that if I disappear again for a few days, I'm okay. Sparky, my computer, is having issues again. He keeps freezing up. At this point, the only thing I can do is get on the Internet. I can't use my photo program, Print Shop, etc. And he's really slow just checking email. So I'm worried that he'll decide to quit doing that also. I'm trying to get a friend to come check him for free, but if he can't get over in the next couple of days, I'll have to take ol' Sparky in to the computer store. If that happens, I'll use the library, but probably won't make it every day. Meanwhile, I'll do what I can! I have my 5yo grandson, , all day today. He's been here since Friday evening. We've had a great weekend. He is just a delightful child when his mom is not around. If he's with her, he whines, screams, hits. We've colored, played my version of Pictionary, gone swimming, cruised up & down the street on my new (used) scooter that I just got Friday, brushed the dogs, gone to church, played Aggravation (marble game). Today we are going to see Charlotte's Web with my niece & her kids. My daughter Ginny is back in the hospital again. She's the one with chronic pancreatitis. She's been in the hospital more than out since before Thanksgiving. This last time they put her on some different medication, plus the pancreatic enzymes, and she did pretty well for about a week. She wasn't having pain, was keeping bland food down, and looked a lot better. Then she decided to go back to work (nights as a lab tech), against the advice of her mother & boyfriend. After working 3 nights, the pain & vomiting started again. Her doctor has been talking to her about surgery. Actually, her doctor in San suggested it 3 years ago. She's scared because it's major surgery, but I think it's her only chance for a real life. Before this last major flare started, she was working, starting EMT training, had her own apartment, etc. Now she's had to give up the apartment & put her stuff in storage. She's moved in with her boyfriend's sister & her family. They are great with her. I'm going to visit her tonight. The hospital is on the north side of Indianapolis & my daughter Theresa will meet me to pick up . I'll be able to use my scooter for the first time, because it's a long, long walk to the elevators and then to Ginny's room. So, please keep Ginny in your thoughts & prayers, that she would agree to the surgery if it really is the best thing for her. Well, I'm going to try answering a few more messages before Jon wakes up!
