Guest guest
, I see Dr. Lykens, also in the sarc clinic. When I first saw him 3 years ago, I really liked him. Then last year I started going back to IU and have seen him twice. I've not been that happy with him. He seems a little condescending at times. The last time I saw him I told him that my daughter (who had gone with me the previous visit) thought he was a jerk, and that I had been disappointed, because I felt like he had blown me off regarding the fatigue issue. I think he was a little surprised that I told him this stuff. I was a certified nurse-midwife for 20 years, and I always appreciated patients having the courage to tell me when they were unhappy or dissatified with something. I'm not sure he appreciated it. I'd love to see Dr. Wolf, but doctors are so weird about patients switching. When you see Dr. Wolf, if you think about it, would you be comfortable asking her if I could have a "trial" visit with her? I hope your visit goes well, and you get some useful answers. The world is a much smaller place when you can find people over the internet.I am seeing Dr Wolf at the Sarcoidosis Center at the IU Med Center. She's the best doctor I've ever worked with and I've been to 2 different Mayo Clinics, a major Pituitary Center and Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles!!! A BIG sample size. :)She's very through and has actually called me back to go over blood test results before my next apt......called me on her way home when I left a message with her AA,.....there was some confusion so she gave me her email address to send the question to her.....to which she responded before 8:00 am the next morning. All the other people I've seen for testing, etc. at the Med Center just speak nothing but good things about her and how personal she is with her patients. If you need a good sarcoid doc I HIGHLY recommend her. My next apt is next Thursday and I'm on pins and needles to get some results and hopefully start making some progress!! My greatest fear is having another apt where the doc says, "well everything seems to be in range, can't find anything wrong with you...." Guest guest
Rose, Anyone who would say that to a doc has got the " hutz-pah " to switch to another doc within the practice......besides when you have to see doctors as much as we do, the least we can have is a doc who listens and takes our concerns seriously.....after all, they're workin for us!!!! Next time you come to the Med Center let me know and I'll come meet you for coffee/tea.
