Guest guest
I finally got a Dr. that paid attention & was working with me! Do NOt get excited yet...she had Visa issues & is not longer here:( Her replacement, ahemmmmmmm, refilled my Effexor but when I asked if it could be responcible for sleep disturbance started asking me if I was " seeing things " , was I having depression or manic eppisoids. All of the above I replied a resonding NO to. After 3 min.s of seeing me a vertual stranger, & obviously had not read my chart he wrote me a refferal for a phyc eval. According to him I MUST be either bi-polar, etc. etc. Lord help me I called the patient advocate & reported him for telling me to " Be quiet & just answer his questions, he knew what he was doing. " Of course as I am now labeled I am positive it had no good results. Now, however they know I will Never go see him again! I do not care how nuts they label me NO ONE should have to put up with such rude conduct. Sence when does a patient have no say in what treatment they seek? I started the visit with saying I was only 30 days from qualifying for health insurence & was only there for refills & would come back after I had insur. As Sarc can effect the brain & insur will do abotu any thing to not have to pay siting " pre-existing conditions " the Dr. ( and I use the term loosly) has now given them an out again. Two years of gritting my teeth & toughing it out down the drain! I was'nt depressed but I am now. While I would not wish this off on any one there are a few that could use a small taste of what we deal with on a daily basis. Thanks for letting me vent in a safe enviornment where I wont be looked on as crazy. Right now it means a lot. Carol
Guest guest
Carol, When I read this email a couple of days ago, I wasn't sure how I wanted to respond. So many of us can tell the same story... If you are getting your insurance thru a job-- where there is guaranteed enrollment, then you won't have the sweat. If you are getting it privately, I'd suggest you not return to this MD. Do not release these records to anyone. If you have to release anything, then limit your authorization to the MD that was helping you. You may need to re-establish with a new group-- entirely. And from the quality of care you've received that may not be a bad idea. I'm glad you decided to break silence, and do know that we're here for you. Guest guest
Carol, Crazy doesn’t exist in our vocabulary, yes we don’t remember things, or maybe even say the wrong things, I many times can not correctly say a word, I’ve said a million times right, but I’m not crazy, but boy let me tell, I know because I worked in the medical field for 30 years, there are some real crazy, down right Looney docs out there, how they got through school is a mystery to me! But you NO you are not crazy you have a chronic disease that affects the head, and causes us to have at times “spells” yes lets call them “spells”. You are more sane then the “crazy” doc you saw, and don’t forget that. so smile it can only get better!
