Guest guest
Hi Cheryl! My BMI is 36 and classified as Obese II, very high risk. Unfortunately the health insurance's guidelines usually begin at a BMI of 40 & also have co-morbidities. I am a pre-op, have not scheduled my WLS yet and will plan on going to Spain with Dr. Baltasar(which I believe will cost about $10,500 and the r/t airfare about $800) hoping/praying and wishing before the end of the year. : ) There seems to be several levels of obesity. Here is some information from a chart I found on BMI's. If a person's BMI is: Less than 18.5 Underweight 18.5 to 24.9 Considered healthy and low-risk 25 to 29.9 Overweight, considered moderate-risk 30 to 34.9 Obese I, considered high-risk 35 to 39.9 Obese II, very high risk 40 and over Morbidly Obese, extremely high risk Hope this was helpful! a BMI 36 Pre-op Re: susana susana: hi..i just had a question for you..i saw you bmi is less than 40 preop. are you still considered morbidly obese? it seems low. when is your surgery? cheryl ----------------------------------------------------------------------
