Guest guest
Hi AJ, Someone's post gave me this idea but I'm not sure how accurately it works. What if you put 2 inexpensive standard scales side by side and then put one foot on each? You could add the 2 weights together to get your weight. Probably wouldn't be quite as accurate as a 500lb scale, but it should be pretty close and, at a minimum, if you did it the same way every week (or every day) wouldn't you be able to see your losses relative to the last weighing? Just a thought, haven't tested it myself, but am considering it for post-op between dr visits. Guest guest
I tried this.. it didn't work =( I'd seen the idea touted by someone from BTC on the AMOS site.. But I tried it.. and it was wrong (and I used 2 healthometer scales, which are very accurate to 330 lbs.. siiigh) Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.... I was disappointed, too.. Was it really really off? I did it that way today (my dr has mentioned it as at least something to go by till I can use a normal scale) and i think it was okay...at least it was near what I thought I weighted... Did you find yourself heavier or lighter than it said? ~~* AJ *~~ BMI 59 INSURANCE: NW Washington Medical (Regence ) DR Heap, Richland WA Denied due to exclusion, denied appeal 6/7/01 going self pay - Dr Baltasar Spain Bellingham Support for WLS WWW.lookin2bthin.homestead.com
Guest guest
I was heavier.. It showed I'd lost 27 lbs.. then a hospital scale showed I'd only lost 18 lbs. I told my surgeon's nurse the method & she laughed & told me it was inaccurate. But if it worked OK for other people, maybe I'll try it again.. I don't mind if its wrong.. I'm going nuts without a scale I can use...at least its more accurate than nothing at all... Hugs, My dr said it wasnt real accurate but was better than nothing. I guess if you weigh yourself and then again later at least you'll know what you lost even if its not your actual weight! ~~* AJ *~~ BMI 59 INSURANCE: NW Washington Medical (Regence ) DR Heap, Richland WA Denied due to exclusion, denied appeal 6/7/01 going self pay - Dr Baltasar Spain Bellingham Support for WLS WWW.lookin2bthin.homestead.com
