Terri,

I had a flair which resulted paralysis on the left side of my face. I

went in to see a neurologist who I had seen years earlier due to what

was described as 'ideopathic demylenating peripheral neuropathy " . In

other words, I lost the feeling in my hands & feet but they had no

clue as to why. This time around, the neuro was thinking along the

lines of Bell's palsy, at least until the paralysis became bi-

lateral. He briefly mentioned something about neurological sarcoid.

I had no clue what he was talking about so I asked...good thing I have

a big mouth. The symptoms he described were similiar to some of

mine...then he mentioned skin lesions. I held out my hands and showed

him the nodules on my fingers. He sent me off to a dematologist for a

biopsy. The report came back describing the lesions as non-caseacting

granulomas. After 14+ years after the initial flair I had a

diagnosis...I have sarcoid. Hang in there...Tony

and a biopsy in my mouth where is seems to have begun! The spinal taps

are always normal so i do not have taps anymore. Anne
