Guest guest
Just thought I give yuu a quick update on happenings in sarcland Washington. After seeing the rhuemy and hearing that I would be able to start on mxt soon, she called back and said that I have a serious vitamin D deficit, and proscribed 50,000 mg's twice a week for the next eight weeks until it is back where it should be, then we can start the new therapy. (Seems like a long time, but I have already waited 15 years for a treatment that works, eight little weeks ain't goin to kill me) Meanwhile back at the ranch, (ok, it's not a ranch just a crappy little city lot), I saw my neuro guy again, now you have to realize that this guy is my new hero after steppin on my GP and his diagnosis of 'stupid, lazy, ignorant and generally a real rock sucker of a guy, (for those of you who haven't heard the medical term 'rock sucker', it is much like my long deceased uncle's description of stupid people, aka " dumber than a bag 'o' hammers " ', and went on to say that maybe, just maybe it is the sarcoid causing the problems and the fact that I am a rock sucker is only secondary to the disease. He has suggested that I try a drug that should relieve my nerve pain in my hands feet and face, now because I am a rock sucker I can only remember the name of one of these drugs, " Celebrex " , and am only kinda sure that's the right name, but after this amazingly precise description I was hoping that someone might know what these drugs are and if they work for what he is suggesting, also what are the side effects. I still haven't made up my mind as the pain is tolerable at present, as long as I am on the Prednisone, but I am worried that once I start the taper after going on MXT, they will become much, much worse like they did the last time they tried to take my dose of Pred down. Any information you might have would be greatly appreciated, oh and as for the rock sucker thing, I swear I haven't had a rock in my mouth for at least three or four weeks, so there Dr. Dumbo!!! (yep, that's really his name,(remember those hammers?), and it has nothing to do with his prodigious ears!!) Stu

Guest guest
Stu, Get out and get some sunshine--I think it's available in Washington right now-- heck, what do I know, I'm in sunny hot California where we're breaking heat records for March. It's been 80+ for the last week. If I remember right-- when it was this hot in March-- it was gonna be a bugger of a summer. Oh, well, maybe I'll go up to WA. Take care, and yes, your humor will help get ya thru. (so my therapist says--(and what is behind that humor-- are you covering up some serious fear...- sometimes she can be a real pain in butt) Tracie************************************** AOL now offers free email to everyone.
