The only real problem with the Novocain is if he would have high blood pressure, or a typically fast heartbeat. Dentists typically use a product called Lidocaine which has Epinephrine in it. The Epi. can cause a fast heartbeat and raise the blood pressure. If he does have any problems with either of these, ask the dentist to use the one without the Epi. in it. (The most common brand name of Epi. free is Carbocaine.)
