Grace has had all of her sedation's at CCF. The anesthesiologists actually have a protocol there, no Versed on Mito. Although it was routinely used on her before the diagnosis, I have never even had to bring it up since (they tell me upfront that she will not get the Versed). From what I understand it is too sedating, and takes too long to be metabolized. It also, by nature, slows everything down which is obviously not a good thing for mito. We had noticed that every time she got it, she would be sleepy for days following. I don't know any other reasons for it being banned, but I figure it can't be good because it is well known at CCF not to use it.

I would imagine, though, that if he is doing fine he will be O.K. Like I said before Grace had it many times before her diagnosis, and all we ever noticed was that she was sleepier than normal. I would just watch him closely while he is sleeping, making sure he is breathing good.

ketamine and versed for procedures but now she only gets ketamine.

If absolutely had to get versed she could, they'd just have

to start with a fraction of the usual dose and monitor her sats. My

guess is that if he would have had a problem you would have known by

now. As long as he's drinking and is awake enough to complain if you

change the channel or touch his stuff, I wouldn't worry too much
