Guest guest
Terri, I am mostly at peace with God but I certainly still have my 'tantrums'. The first few years I was sick I was in such guilt thinking I must have done something really bad and was being punished. I thought if God would just show me what it was I did, I would have confessed it and stopped but He never did. Then I got mad at Him because being a Christian was way way too hard. I finally realized that it 'rains' on everyone. It's a bit of a test isn't it? and that He still loves me. I'll never doubt that again. Though I wonder about how much I can take at times. I was in and still am in such pain, I don't get to church often and most of my friends(Christians?...) have also left me by the wayside. One of them lives downstairs from me! I see her very seldom. I have been dumped! I have since realized that relationship had become toxic for me. I am glad that I am not the only Christian who has had a cussing problem when sick. ...lol. Your arts sound like alot of fun. I had never painted anything til about five years ago. I was going stark raving mad with nothing to do and spending too much on the home-shopping channels. (I still spend but not nearly as much) I ordered a painting on rocks book...flowers. It didn't look too hard and I could paint on small rocks. Well, everybody loved them. After a couple of years and countless daffodils, daisies, sunflowers, cats, raccoons, etc. I needed something lighter to paint on. I started painting some of the same stuff on canvas and people liked them. But I wanted to try something else so I ordered the Jerry Yarnell(PBS guy) landscape painting books. I am still learning and it is creative and fun and I once again feel productive in some way. That is really important to find when you are so ill. I bought a book on mosaics but I haven't gotten that far yet. Give me some time...lol. It is so cool to see something form beneath your hands isn't it?...and then to realize you made it, you formed it.... It makes me think how God calls us His treasures and loves us so much. I look at everything around me differently since painting. I see colors I never saw before and shadows and highlights, etc. If I hadn't gotten so sick I don't know if I would have ever painted or not. There is a book called The Creative Call about Chrisitian artists-of all kinds- and how to bring that creative side out. I still haven't finished it and on my 'down' days should be. I don't know how to post pics of my work but if anyone has a scanner I'll send them and they can. hugs and create! S.mosaicgirl1 wrote: ,I read your post and wanted to pop in. I too, am a social person, whois very much grieving the loss of the world I used to have. I have hadto do a lot of crying, yelling, cussing, apologizing and praying tofinally get to the point I am at now; at peace with God.He is such an integral part of my life and if I still had my old life, Iwould not have the personal relationship with Jesus Christ that I havenow. I was lucky enough to get involved with Bible Study Foundation andgo to a Bible study once a week. It breaks in the summer and I have tofind some material to study to last me until it starts again inSeptember.Like you, I also have an arsty side. I used to do traditional stainedglass ( sun catchers, panels, flat panel lamps, etc) but am reallygetting into mosaics now because they are a lot more forgivingespecially with the double vision, fatigue etc. It is something I canput down, go to sleep and come back to. Interestingly enough, eventhough I have cognitive issues, I have not had any problem with mycreativity. I wonder if it has been like this for anyone else.Well so much for all of that. I just felt like I wanted to pop in.Terri G. Thanks for the virtual hug and the virtual Dovebar!> , I don't know how anyone can be at home and only get out 3 timessince Jan 1.
