Menudo? Really?

It is a Mexican dish and it is made from tripe which is the stomach of the cow. It really is an acquired taste. I make it but I don't eat it. It usually has tripe with the broth and chili as one of the main flavoring, herbs and spices. Some times it has hominy added which is a type of corn.

Wow ,

You are Randy's new best friend if he can eat menudo!!!! We thought the

tripe would be weird to try and swallow. We were worried it would get

stuck or something. I don't do menudo but Randy loves it!!!! How long

after surgery did you try it? I can't wait to call him and let him

know....he's at work so ths will make his day!!!!

Okay, I was going to let this menudo thing pass, but since it was brought up again, I have to ask... what the heck is menudo?

I think I was at least 6 months out. I really really chew it though.

But I love it. It has never caused me any problems. Even the hominey

seems to be ok chewed really well

Well then it doesn't sound like something I'd want to try. I always TRY to keep an open mind about food, but tripe is always something I've purposely avoided because it grosses me out. But thanks for the explaination Ramona. And BTW, how are YOU doing?

It's supposed to be an excellent remedy for a hangover, so is a traditional New Year's Day meal. I think I'd rather have the hangover....

If you get past the thought of what you are eating, it is REALLY GOOD!!!
