Guest guest
Kathy - this is sad but interesting. Can you or anyone tell me why the Mito cocktail helps some people, doesn't help others and for others such as your Audrey can even do harm? My daughter -Kay is one of the people that it has helped. Just wondering. . Re: mito cocktail question (side effects??) I have been quiet lately but I had to respond to this question. Audrey had terrible adverse reactions to the mito cocktail. Her seizures became so bad that we almost lost her. I know in my heart if she would have continued she would not be with us today. It only took two days of the cocktail for us to know it was not for her. However, I know there are many who have benefited a great deal from the cocktail and everyone should use their own judgment. If we had not tried it we would always have wondered if it would have helped her. Guest guest
We have never seen any adverse effects of the mito cocktail, but some people do. A lot of it depends on the person. For Grace we started seeing positive results in about a month of starting her cocktail. She was started very slowly and it took almost a year before she was taking full doses of everything. Now I can tell if she does not get her medicines for a few days (pharmacies, insurance problems are usually the culprit). I notice her moods change and even her skin tone diminishes. I am so glad she is on the cocktail, because she has improved so much because of it.

But after four days of the cocktail, she started having three grand mals a day. I discontinued the cocktail. It took a few days for her to recover. But I remember her sleeping through Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. She was still shaky on New Years. is nineteen, has Complex 1, along with a Carnitine Deficiency, and Seizure Disorder. When she was eighteen months old, she was diagnosed as Autistic. It has been a long road for her, and our family. In April of 2003, after a lengthy hospitalization, tests, and biopsies, she was diagnosed with Mito. She tires very easily, and is in a wheelchair.
