Guest guest
Hi there my fellow WLS'ers, I have a question for the post-ops in the group. I've read several times now about some sort of personal "wipes" that you used while you were in the hospital. Can you please tell me what they were called? And where do I get them? In the regular grocery store, or where? The time is drawing VERY near to my surgery, and I'm starting to think about things again. I'm still relatively calm, but last night I had a very unusal dream. I dreamed that they could NOT get me to sleep!!! I was lying there, all hooked up to tubes and IV's, and the anesthesia would NOT work!! Very SCARY dream!!! It woke me up, in fact. Oh well, I guess this would be somewhat normal to be dreaming things like this. ISN'T it?? LOL!! Looking forward to your responses. Guest guest
Hi Sondra How are you feeling now....? I wish I could get on to write more and see how all the recent post ops are....so hard with two kids and a job.... I see that you had Dr. Herron....any thoughts on him? I'm having my consul in August and it's amazing how fast that is coming...I have spoken with my insurance company and every doctor I see and hopely when the time come....I will be ready. How was your hospital stay? After hearing about and quite a few more...Whew is all I can say....Anywho, I'm glad you are out and about and back online. Drug stores have them in the infant section. --Steve --
Guest guest
Pam, With regard to the wipe thingees ) I found using wipes wrapped around a wooden spoon INVALUABLE. As a supersized person, personal hygiene after a BM was a gymnastic event before surgery (I can't believe I just wrote that!!). Thanks to the honesty of many here, I was prepared. I would have never been able to " reach " without the wooden spoon given the sensitive newly constructed mid section I have. You can find wipes (baby wipes, feminine hygiene wipes) in any grocery store. I preferred using the quilted kind (Always/feminine hygiene or Kleenex/Cottonelle " Just for Me " Kids' wipes are two brands). I didn't care for Wet Ones as I found them very thin an irritating. All of the above are " flushable " although I wouldn't flush more than 2 or 3 maximum at a time. The last thing I ever want to do is ask for assistance in that area and the above made that a moot point. Hope that helps ) Sondra 1 week post op BPD/DS w/Dr. Herron 6/18/01 > Hi there my fellow WLS'ers, > > I have a question for the post-ops in the group. Guest guest
Playtex also has a nice product to use, as well. (And let me recommend the unscented variety – not the way you want to find out you have an allergy or sensitivity to something, ya know?) I don’t know if the coupon was in the nationwide distribution, but in our Sunday paper there was a nice coupon for them included. dina -----Original Message----- From: Steve Goldstein Sent: Monday, June 25, 2001 7:25 AM To: duodenalswitch Cc: duodenalswitch ; pamjams2@... Guest guest
What about the bottle that they give us to keep our stiches clean after an epesiotomy? I had two and gave one to my mom,she loved it. I think they would have them at a medical supply, they are very thin and easy to squeeze. If you had some liquid soap that wouldnt aggrevate the area it would be great. I find that baby wipes get my rear ready for preparation H if you know what I mean (soap can do it to-if its not mild).
