Guest guest
Matt & Stu, sometimes sleep apnea can be treated with an appliance that's worn in the mouth. But the "hose" can be entertaining. I have a friend with sleep apnea & uses CPAP. Several years ago, she & another midwife camped out in my backyard in a tent. Bethel ran an extension cord out to the tent for the CPAP machine, but kept waking up during the night feeling like she couldn't breathe. In the morning we found that my dogs had managed to get tangled in the cord & unplug it. No wonder she couldn't breathe! BTW, Stu, when you get all wired up, ask them to give you a photo. I've had 3 sleep studies & they took my picture every time (before getting "wired"), but were happy to take a Polaroid for me to scare my grandkids! Between that & the dental dam monster photo, we have a pretty strange family album. Have fun if you can; that's my motto. One of 'em. The most recent bout with sarc started with the memoryproblems again, that's when my brilliant gp decided I am totally nutzand need to have my head shrunken, (something I absolutely refuse todo, just think of all the hats that would no longer fit!). When I sawmy neuro he just laughed at my otheridio............er.........uh........doctor, and asked me if I washaving trouble sleeping at all. After my loving wife's long, emberrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaaaasssssssssing, did I mentionlonnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggg, description of my snoring and waking upduring the night, he suggested sleep apnea might well be the culprit,I go in for testing on the 17th of April. (Yes this means I have tosleep in a fake hotel room in the doc's office, with electrodes muchakin to those worn by young frankenstien attached all over my body, and try to ignore the staff watching me as I do so), and then if thatturns out to be the problem I get to sleep with a hose attached to myhead for the rest of my life, but if my mind returns it will all beworth the trouble. So, who knows, maybe this is the kind of thing tolook at, only time will tell, good luck, hope you get to feeling better.Stu i'm making a difference. Make every IM count for the cause of your choice.
