Any info on Dr. Scholten in Mich?

Anyone out there get a BPD-DS from Dr. Scholten? Any comments?

I heard that his hospital is giving him a hard time and doesn't want to schedule any DS surgeries. The same thing happened at North Oakland, in Pontiac, Michigan. They closed the doors on Dr. Mustafa Hares back in January '01. But now, Dr. Hares has found St. -Oakland and they have welcomed him with open arms. They are a wonderful hospital. All the staff there welcomes what obesity surgery stands for and all are committed to our cause.

I haven't had surgery yet, but I have had many dealings with his staff

and hoops to jump through before my consultation. Now, I read that he

might not be doing the DS because of the hospital issues. I will now

be looking towards Dr. Wood in Detroit for the micropouch. I cannot

afford Dr. Hares and Dr. Lutrowski and their post op fee's. So I have

to decide whether or not to have a similar RNY procedure. What I keep

thinking, is that this is all about weight loss, not about which

procedure I can have or can't have.
