Carsen's hematologist says this: Carsen's immune system appears to function well, but as we also know with system disorders, sometimes the function and the numbere are discrepant. Is there any other way to determine the ability of the immune system other than those "numbers"? Since Carsen does get infections a lot, would he benefit from IVIG or even qualify? After reading on this today, it sounds horribly risky! Although in the same sense it sounds very safe and worthwile. Carsen is starting day care Tuesday. He'll be at an increased risk of contracting a virus, I know... I want him to have as good an immune system as he can have. I read that IVIG is also used for other disorders.. not just Immun. deficiency.. some where not listed.. It read like your doc would have to determine that. Krystena R.
