I did not have a cough or cold for my WLS in Richmond, so I'm not sure what they will do. I have had a small cold with 2 other surgeries and they were done, but they weren't through Kaiser. So I'm not sure, but by 2 more days you'll be better. You've already stopped any medicines that are blood thinners right? Like no aspirin, or anything the surgeon said to stop. Your antibiotic shouldn't be a problem, I'm not sure about the decongestant. You could call the advise nurse and just tell them you're having surgery and are these medicines okay? Take care and I hope Monday is the day you come to the other side. You're in my thoughts and prayers. Donnagranela52 wrote:

I am finishing up an antibiotic and decongestant and I am wondering if I should stop taking them the day before surgery. I still have a little bit of a cold and a slight cough. I went to a regular Dr. at Kaiser to check to see if I would be alright to go into surgery and he thought I would be fine. I hope I don't find out differently when I go to Richmond on Monday. Did anyone else have a cold/cough going into surgery? I can't believe I am almost there. It's very exciting and terrifying too. Don't let that happen for a few worries. Find other ways to deal with not having your family there all the time. Paint, indoor gardening, find someone to babysit for (?), go visit some friends... anything. You've got just over a week until the rest of your life. :) You can beat this before it becomes a problem Luci.> > Ron> My house is empty> > > My daughter, son-in-law and my

Luci, I know it is hard hon. I posted about being in

a funk and I don't like being the way I feel right now

but I am going on in spite of. You can do this and

you are correct that eating or over eating is not the

answer because when it is said and done, after you

have over eaten, the house will still be empty. So,

carrots are good and post, post, post, read a book,

go for a walk if you can and just know that your day

will be here sooner rather than later. No ones

problems here are smaller or larger than anyone elses,

they just are what they are so don't belittle your

situation at all. Try to hang in there and know that

you are not alone even if the house is empty.
