Guest guest
Jeanne, I don't know of this happening if you're at Richmond, but anything is worth a try. Write the letter and see if you can set up an appointment and talk directly to a surgeon, all they can say is sorry you must lose the 10%, or they may be of some help, or say yes. If your PCP said write the letter then I would, but I would deliver it myself. Donnatopazmisskitty wrote: Here's the scoop...As you guys all know I have really been struggling with the 10%. All this time I have been back and forth with my PCP. After seeing the nutritionist again I went back to my PCP to see about adjuting some of my meds to see if that is negating my weight loss. Since she knows my history and my struggles and my diet, she suggested writing a letter to the Bariatrics Department herself. Would this help me get a sooner date even though I have 11 pounds more to go? Anyone know of this happening before?JeanneDonna JordonDSJordon@... Yahoo! Guest guest
Donna, I am in Fremont and my Doctor says she would write the letter herself saying that I am doing all the right things, with regards to my diet and exercise. She has seen me go from blood sugars of 500 to maintaining my A1C for 9 months in the 6-7 range. So the proof is in the pudding that I am eating the correct foods to have numbers like that. The fat monster seems to still be winning at this time. I am going in for blood work in the morning, thyroid, A1c again, and vitamin levels, etc. So if the blood work looks good I am going to have her write that letter to Dr Hahn and his staff and maybe with her cooperation I can get this surgery scheduled and have the motivation to really work hard and see if I can drop a few more pounds. Eleven pounds doesn't seems like a lot, I know. I only had 30 the lose and I have lost 19 and that took me since Feb 10 to do it. Thanks for the Support Jeanne > Here's the scoop...As you guys all know I have really been struggling > with the 10%. Guest guest
Jeanne That's even better if your PCP is writing the letter. Hope your lab work all turns out good and this letter works for you. Hang in there Jeanne we're pulling for you!
