Mara,I would think that you could just use carbonated water. It would, of course, be missing the beer flavor, but a lot of times it is the carbonic acid that is needed because it acts as a tenderizer. I have an asian friend who always marinates meats with spices and 7-UP -- adds sweetness and helps tenderize. Might work....AmeliaHusband UC 9 years, SCD 18 monthsLDN 3 mg
