Guest guest
Hi, I have problems with tremors. They were really bad a first but the Dr. put me on atenolol and that has help. He put me on it for high blood pressure, rapid heart rate and PVC's but it helped my tremors. I still have them some especially when I try to cut back on my pred. Some time I have seizures and shake really bad. Take care,
Guest guest
I had the inner tremors and shaking of my entire body in January and February. I was finally able to get rid of the inner trembling which was 24/7 and my hands would shake a lot where I would drop things I attack started with losing my eyesight for close on December 22nd. Then the trembling so that I could not print or write like I use to, I was falling into the walls, dizzy, tripping on carpeting, having trouble swallowing, hoarseness, stuttering, memory loss and being diabetic I had to go on insulin because of the prednisone and then I had trouble with high and low blood sugars. I am glad that is behind me but still dealing with possible damage to my left eye, memory loss, occasional trouble swallowing, stuttering at work when trying to multitask and occasional trouble with falling into walls. I also had trouble with weakness in my legs so they were trying to figure out if I had MS or the sarcoid hitting my central nervous system. MRIs showed lesions on my brain but again they were trying to differentiate between MS and sarcoid but spinal taps, ACE and all blood work were coming back normal as they tested me for lupus, lyme, MS etc. KatSee what's free at AOL.com. Guest guest
Oh, I forgot to tell you that I went without a diagnosis for close to 2 months as they tried to figure out if it was MS but with my prior biopsy in 1980 with lung damage and lymph nodes as well erythema nodusum in prior minor attacks and another sarcoid nodule I had removed in my ankle they are saying it is neurosarcoidosis.See what's free at AOL.com. Guest guest
Stu, I've had tremors for several years. When I was still working as a nurse-midwife, it was a bit tricky stitching moms up. My neuro had me try Remeron, which really helped the tremors, but I gained weight faster than I had on Prednisone. I learned later that weight gain is a common side effect of Remeron. I stayed on it for several months though, because of the need for a steady (or at least steadier) hand at work. The tremors gradually lessened, and now I notice them mostly when I'm extra tired. I did have a couple of episodes of my entire body shaking. The first time it woke me up and I first thought we were having an earthquake. Now, don't laugh, people! We Hoosiers do occasionally get tremors from the New Madrid fault, which is predicted to someday cause a catastrophic quake. Anyway, I actually thought it was an earthquake, then realized it was me quaking! I was fully conscious, didn't have any other symptoms of a seizure, didn't have any post-seizure symptoms, etc. I told my neuro, who knows better than to laugh at anything serious I tell him, but who didn't have any answers & quickly changed the subject. It happened at least once more, but nothing in the last 3-4 years. I've just chalked it up to the long list of mysteries I'll probably never understand. Guest guest
teresa, did you see a little story about cannibals that I sent? It was especially for you, but for all the nurses on the list. I never saw it come through. Guest guest
Hi, I have had tremors for a long time. Especially in my hands, sometimes its so bad I can't type or write. Holding glasses or even bringing a fork or spoon to my mouth from a plate is impossible. Then there are the head tremors which are very embarrasing when you are out in public especially. Usually happens when I am trying to concentrate or when I get anxious. But could happen out of blue. They have gotten worse over time. I belong to a group called http://www.essentialtremor.org/index.php Check this out. Also my doctor put me on a drug called Primidone, it works a little but not that great. Good luck and I hope this helps you out, Debbie Co-Moderatorlizzyandstu wrote: I am wondering if anyone else has experienced problems with tremors? Guest guest
Thanks everyone: It's good to know that I'm not enjoying theses shakes alone, not thatt I want anyone else to have them, but somehow,,,,,,,,yep it helps! Isn't it interesting that doctors almost always act puzzled by any new or increasing problems, that is until you go in ans tell them that you 'have been reading up' on the problem, then they instantly have all the knowledge in the world!! LOL' I have an appointment with the Rheumy this Tues., so we'll have to see what she says, my bet? " Well tremors aren't all that uncommon with this disease " , even though last month she had " no idea " whatt could be causing them.......... Good thing these Docs don't know how many times I leave their offices laughing at them!!!! Anyway thanks for the input, think I'll go sit in the corner and shake for awhile, take care!! Guest guest
I've found that in part, my tremors where related to my Restless Leg Syndrome. RLS doesn't JUST effect the legs, it can and does interfer with your arms and hands also. Tremors can be part of the sarc interfering with our thyroid, our pituatary etc-- so it would be helpful to see if these glands are doing what they should. They can also be part of a Vit B deficiency-- so make sure if you are on (or have been on) immunosupressants, that you supplement your Folic Acid.) The other thing I was reading is that there seems to be somewhat of a connection between the way we process vitamins and minerals that isn't in sync-- both Vit D and Vit C-- are effected. Because they need each other to function - and help balance the B's-- any nutritional problems magnify what we're experiencing.
