Guest guest
Just a friendly reminder to everyone: PLEASE delete any "extras" on your posts. PLEASE send any responses to one person that offers encouragement or prayers, but no advice that others would be interested in reading, DIRECTLY to that person and NOT to the entire list. Guest guest
I'm always fascinated when one member decides to start chiding this list about following rules. Even more interesting is that I can't recall seeing this name on the list before and the post is not signed. Mom is it you? ....Yes, I did wash my hands. OK, I'll step up and admit I'm a moron. Would you mind being a bit more specific? " No advice that others would be interested in " sounds so intriguing. Why must we avoid sharing something that would interest more than one person? I've got to admit, I'm baffled by your post. Please explain why it bothers you. Second, is the only reason you're asking folks to refrain from it because it bothers you? gobo surg. sched. 7/9/01 Dr. BMI

I also agree that congratulations, prayers, etc. are best sent to individuals. HOWEVER, I don't think there's any official 'rule' about it not being allowed to be posted to the group. You see, many angels take these messages, cut and paste them and send/give them to recent post-ops. If the messages are sent to the post-op themselves, they may not be able to read them until much later (sometimes people aren't able to sit at the computer for extended periods of time right after surgery and/or they don't want to be baraged with a totally full mailbox of well wishes upon their return because it likely overflowing even without such messages). I think we should all be mindful of such things, and I know this has been said in the past. It is a huge list with a lot of mail to get through every day. I have a simple suggestion for those who don't do this already: If you choose 'daily digest' in your options on yahoogroups, the e-mails will be sent in batches of 20 messages (usually) throughout the day. You can read and respond to them at your leisure. It makes it just a little easier. all the best, Noverr-Chin lap ds with gallbladder removal January 25, 2001 co-moderator, duodenalswitch five months post-op and still feelin' fab! pre-op: 307 lbs/bmi 45 now: 241 lbs/bmi
