Guest guest
Is it true that you get weight the day of Surgery and if you are not at your 10% goal weight that surgery can and will be cancelled? For some unknown reason - and beyond any thing that makes any sense - Last night I had the need to binge eat- and every time I took a bite of a red light food I would say to myself - enjoy- it may be the last time you ever get to have candy or any of the other foods you have sooooo enjoyed having of the many many years....... My surgery is this coming Monday - and I am fooling myself if I think I can not gain 5pd + in just a few days - because I can and I have.... Yell ay me - tell me to stop - and please tell me that someday I can have my comfort foods back again. Luci
Guest guest
Lucia STOP!! It is true they WILL and have cancelled surgeries due to weight gains on surgery day. NO LAST MEALS. You WILL be able to eat those foods again. HOWEVER, take it from some one who is two years out and struggling with bad behaviors coming back and a 13 pound regain(which Ive now lost 3 of). Use your post op days wisely. Do not tempt yourself with foods off the no no list. I wish I had never found out that I do not dump anymore, or that I can tolerate popcorn etc. You only have a short honeymoon time where you will lose so quickly. At about six months to a year it slows down and you have to be so careful again. During the honeymoon phase you can " cheat " and still lose and it lulls you into a false security of thinking thats the way it will always be. Then you find out that you are regaining and cant figure out why. Really really use this time to create new behaviors. Find something non food related to self soothe during stress etc. IF necessary get councelling now. I wish I had taken more advantage of my honeymoon phase. I did succeed in losing 165 pounds, but I think if I had been more strictly following the program I would have gotten to my personally set goal of 135. I started this journey at 315, dropped to 283 due to the 10% requirement, lost to 150, regained to 163 and am now 159. I have 9 more pounds to go to get back to my lowest point and 24 to get to my goal. And its tougher now. I struggle every day. That said, give yourself time to mourn, its normal. But then think about all you will be gaining and you will see its all worth it. For example, me getting off my Starbucks addiction...150 felt way better than Starbucks tastes. I need to lose 9 more pounds to get back to my lowest weight reached...150. This weekend is tough...gonna be gone all day today and there's a pizza party for the team. I packed my cooler for lunch and am taking my thermos of coffee. No Starbucks and NO fast food. I may have one slice of pizza with the team for dinner. Best wishes! Guest guest
Luci Stop eating, you can gain and they will cancel your surgery if you're not down the 10%. Please stop, and as time passes you will be able to eat some things you liked before and some things you will have to give up. This is a lifestyle change not a diet, but you will be so happy when you're on the other side. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Guest guest
Such wise words. Use what you know and try to stay away from the carbs and when you mess up mourn, but get back on track and you will get where you want. Donna Diane Duenas wrote: LuciaSTOP!! Guest guest
LUCI!!!!!! you have some 'splaining to do. Look, you are nervous and afraid and unsure and feeling the need to "say good-bye to food". All of that is normal. However, you need to get ahold of it. Yes they will cancel your surgery. Really. So...quit screwing up. Stop it. Do not sabotage your opportunity for joy and good health. You deserve the surgery. You deserve to healthy. Do not let yourself mess up your opportunity. DO NOT. And don't make me come over there, or you'll be in big trouble. Here's what I want you to do. Take a walk. Start with the exercise. It will make you feel healthier, and you won't want to pollute your body with bad things. Drink every bit of your water. And do not eat between meals. You can do it, and you must...for you, and for the popel you love you!! RobynnDonna Jordon wrote: Luci Stop eating, you can gain and they will cancel your surgery if you're not down the 10%.
