Guest guest
Kim, What I meant by the ANS regulating the urinary system was the effect that it can have on the kidneys by decreasing or increasing urine secretion. Increased urine secretion for several days is something that my daughter -Kay would experience along with other symptoms before an episode of cyclic vomiting began. My first thought when reading your e-mail was that of ureteric reflux, a urine infection. A symptom of this can be wetting of pants if previously dry during the day. Fanconi's syndrome also comes to mind. This is a rare disorder of tubule function which can show itself in Mito disorders. It was thought that -Kay may have this at one stage. Sorry I can't be of more help but I am not a Doctor but another mother like yourself looking for answers to questions that the Doctor's could not give me. Keep searching and asking questions Kim. Don't give up. Hugs, . Re: The ANS regulates all the unconscious functions of our bodies, our cardiovascular system, gastrointestinal system and urinary system are just a few.*****************************************, This is interesting. Do you mean that the ANS regulates if a child wets themselves ? Katelyn still has some problems with that. We had thought it was related to the Lithium that she was on,,but she is still doing it. Just a little bit, several times a day. I wonder what kind of Dr we need to take her to ? I am on the waiting list to see a neuro that feels there is a correlation between bipolar and mito, but the wait is about 6 months :(Kim mom to Meaghan 15 ~~Katelyn 12 Bipolar, and OCD ~~ Logan 7 Autism, congenital myopathy, possible mitochondrial disease, and JRA ~~ and Ethan 5 and 100 % BOY________________________________________________________________Get your name as your email address.Includes spam protection, 1GB storage, no ads and moreOnly $1.99/ month - visit http://www.mysite.com/name today! Please contact mito-owner with any problems or questions.
