Guest guest
I'm trying soo hard every day to stay within the 1200.. and Ive even kicked up the exercise to 3 days a week. Appears that I might need to boost that to daily.. and give a rest on Sunday. It's not terrible to exercise, I just rather not wake up early to do it. But that's the only time I have. Breakfast and Lunch are easier cause I plan ahead and never deviate from it.. but dinner is harder, because of the late time I get home, by then I wanna eat a moose!! Should I just switch to eating frozen lean cuisine meals, to help me stay on track with calories?? I want to reach goal, and I'm 17 lbs away, but I also want to teach myself and have all the tools necessary when time comes. My husband said of course it's harder now.. you know you can over eat and not hurt yourself internally.. true!! But as he says, once you have the surgery you know you can't eat more then allowed or you will put yourself in danger or throw up or something worse. And he's right, knowing that I can eat more now, sometimes kills me!! Just need some positive words... any tricks or helpful hints?? LISA in Richmond!! Guest guest
Evenings are tough for me too. Especially since I use food as a comforter and relaxer. Try having really planned out meals. Keep cut veggies in the fridge to nibble on while you are preparing dinner. Keep any temptations out of the house. You can do this. You are worth this and you are stronger than you think. Guest guest
When I was on the 1200 calorie diet and would find myself in the extra hungry time I would make me an extra big salad to go with what I planned for my dinner, I would use light dressing and very little so I was able to stay in the calories. I lost a lot more than the 10% and by 5 months post op I hit goal. I'm now 7 months post op at 140 pounds, I have lost a total of 130 pounds and after surgery you do have all the things your husband said to think about. Plus you will be full and lose weight fast in the first 6 months, so this is the time you need to really use to get as much weight as you can off. Good luck getting the 10% off. Guest guest
I know what you mean. Dinner is hard for me too because that's when I tend to just grab something because I am so hungry when I get home. There is nothing at all wrong with having some lean cuisine in the freezer if it is one of those days and you just can't face cooking. Far better to eat one of those than something bad for you. I've been cooking ahead on weekends. Today I took advantage of the low prices for turkey and roasted one. I also made garlic rosemary chicken breasts in the crock-pot and steamed a bunch of vegetables. Everything went into meal size containers. I already have roast beef and low carb barbeque pork in the freezer that I made last week. So I have lean cuisine convenience without the high sodium and at a much cheaper price. My main problem is being hungry when I get home. So what I've done is put cans of sf lemonade and a box of low carb bars in the trunk. When I come out from work I get a bar and a drink and that's enough to keep me from stopping at a fast food place. Maybe something like that might help you. Keep plugging at it and you'll make it. Sheltie Pam Trouble reaching Goal I'm trying soo hard every day to stay within the 1200.. and Ive even kicked up the exercise to 3 days a week.
