Guest guest
Just don't eat tuna for more than a week straight because of the murcery in it.Do you mean once a day for a week, or just eat it however many times for a week, then don't eat it at all for a little while? With how much fish I eat I'm a little concerned about the mercury. What do you guys think is a good rule to follow? Is there any way to help my body detox the mercury? Peace =)Alyssa 15 yoUC April 2008, dx Sept 2008SCD June 2009 (restarted)Chinese Herbs (not legal but helping!)

Guest guest
Hey Alyssa, hopefully the link I posted cleared up your tuna question (http://www.nrdc.org/health/effects/mercury/tuna.asp)- this shows you how many cans are safe to eat per week depending on your body weight. If you are concerned about what other kinds of fish to eat (or not eat), this " pocket guide " from the Monterey Bay Aquarium is very useful in helping you make good choices based on sustainability and toxins. http://www.montereybayaquarium.org/cr/cr_seafoodwatch/download.aspx I love fish too! I try to eat fish just from the " Best Choices " column. They also list " Good Alternatives " and fish to " Avoid. Guest guest
Keep in mind this isn't a "follow this or get poisoned" It's a reccomendation. I usually make 3 cans of tuna for tuna salad and i've eaten all 3 cans in 2 or 3 days, then I give it 3 weeks or so before I make more. Never had a problem.-UC - 1+ yearsSCD - 7 months 100% strict and 4 months restricted diet.Asacol - 5 pills a dayTo: BTVC-SCD From: joannaultman@...Date: Sat, 16 Jan 2010 17:15:54 +0000Subject: Re: Mercury in Fish (was:: quick foods) Hey Alyssa, hopefully the link I posted cleared up your tuna question (http://www.nrdc.org/health/effects/mercury/tuna.asp)- this shows you how many cans are safe to eat per week depending on your body weight.
