Kim,

I didn't have this problem but to me it doesn't sound normal. I had mine open. It wouldn't hurt to call Kaiser and ask to speak with a nurse who has experience with bariatric patients.

They can find someone or even get in touch with a surgeon who would know whether this is normal.
