Guest guest
Protein, low carb, water, water and more water. Watch you sodium intake and eliminate the sugar. Stay focused because you can do this. We all were in your shoes and felt the same way but we all made it and so will you. Guest guest
Start making the changes you will have to make post op. Like was previously said: protein, water, and exercise. Exercise even its only a few feet of walking at first. You can do this. Post to the group about a typical daily eating pattern and we can see where we can help you. Guest guest
Are you staying at 1200 calories a day? If more you won't lose and if not enough your body will maintain also. So try really hanging at that 1200 calorie, and keep to what's on the 1200 calorie diet, exercise and make sure you drink enough water. Water really makes a difference with weight lose. Hang in there. Donna wrote: I am having a rough time getting the 10 percent lost. Guest guest
Drink so much water that you waddle. Write every little tiny morsel down for several days, so that you can be honest with yourself as to whether you are really staying below your below your caloric daily goal. Don't lie to yourself that just a bite of this, or a taste of that doesn't count. Make sure you aren't drinking any alcohol. Be brutally honest with yourself. Try walking every single day...and try adding an additional five minutes every day to your daily walk. See if it makes a difference. I bet it will! Good luck, Robynn wrote: I am having a rough time getting the 10 percent lost. I have 20 more pounds to lose, and I have tried everything calorie counting walking, slim fast. any suggestions? Guest guest
I did not know that I had to stay under 1200, I have been at 2000 calories, and it seems to be that I am only maintaining. I usually have oatmeal for breakfast, with tea. for lunch I have a slim fast bar, and an apple. for dinner, it varies. my dad does all the cooking. tonight it is rice and chilli. > I am having a rough time getting the 10 percent lost. Guest guest
A tip about journaling/food diaries - I had a lot of trouble remembering to keep a notebook with me till I took a tip off the Flylady list and started keeping a couple of 3x5 cards in my wallet. I use a card a day, and note everything on the card; then I can review the file when I want to track what I've been doing. I've finally managed to keep my diary consistant for over a week this way! Guest guest
Have you done your orientation, I can't remember if you told me or not. If you have not yet then don't try to lose until then that will be the weight you need to lose 10% of. If you have done the orientation they will give you a 1200 calorie diet that you will be on to lose the weight and it will tell you the foods that you can and can't eat. Take care. Guest guest
I have already seen the surgeon, and he said I have to lose 20 more pounds in three months, before I can see him again. > > I am having a rough time getting the 10 percent lost. Guest guest
, you may want to switch to low carb foods in order to help you lose quickly, although it seems like your current regime is pretty healthy. You can get your dad the South Beach recipe book, maybe he can help you in your efforts. How about scrambled eggs with a little cheese for breakfast...deli turkey meat slices wrapped around a low fat skim mozzarella stick for lunch or salad with tuna (no mayo) in it, and then for dinner, since you don't control it, try to avoid pasta, rice, potatoes, carrots and bread. Veggies ( but not peas, carrots, corn or squash) and berries and meat, fish, or poultry are your best choices. Good luck! Guest guest
Then you should be on the 1200 calorie diet that they gave you at orientation, not a 2000 calorie diet and you will get the rest of that weight off no problem. Write down every thing you eat and add up the calories, and use your 1200 calorie diet to know which foods you should be eating. Good Luck, and hang in there you can do it. Guest guest
Nothing, as far as nutrition...but there is a lot of sugar in it, and lots of carbs. For quick weight loss, low carbs seems to work well.BBQ Man wrote: What's wrong with carrots Robynn?
