Guest guest
Hello Everyone, Just wondering if anyone has had any problems with sarcoid in your bones particularly the spine? Thanks L
Guest guest
, I have the bone spurs the full length of my spine-- and when I'm in flare-- the nerve pain is so nasty from it. In the ARCHIVES there are several posts in reference to bone involvement. You can also find articles by typing in osseous sarcoidosis. Fortunately, the Remicade has helped my bone pain tremendously-- actually the arthritic components of my sarc. For that I am grateful. One thing that I'm always telling people-- if your xrays say "dehydration of discs" it's time to watch your fluid intake. Our brain and spinal column are all inclosed-- and if you aren't getting enough fluid (this goes for body joints also) then you will feel the impact of bone on bone or joints. This system is meant to keep the spaces between the vertebrae floating-- so that everything stays lubricated. Any small amount of dehydration will only accentuate the problem. Also, that "inside the bone pain" is also a sign that you may be dealing with calcium/magnesium defiency. Steroids make this worse, by leaching the calcium from your bones. They do know that sarcoidosians don't process calcium correctly- but they haven't figured out if it's a defiency in the amount of calcium, or just that we can't utilize and clear it from our systems correctly. Guest guest
I unfortunately have had sarc in my spinal vertebrae, I have a terrific mattress on our bed but for some reason there are nights when I wake up from the spinal pain. I take muscle relaxers twice a day and use Vicodin or Vicoden ES. for the bone pain. This morning the pain was a 9 out 0f 10; I have a prescription plan so the doctor ordered Lidocaine Patches which are about 3 X 5 inches. They can be left on for 12 hours and you are asked to only have 3 of them on at a time. I find Ice very effective also. Heat feels good bur really does not relieve the pain I experience. You will find that most of us experience bone paiin of one sort or another. I also use Ultram/Tramadpol which is a med that works on the pain centers in your brain and spine. Sorry to hear you are hurting, sending a gentle hug. Judy in PA
Guest guest
Thank you! Just wondering about what sort of tests you have had for this? I had an xray on my back and it said there was some sort of disk disease in the lower part of my spine. I haven't seen my doctor yet to speak to him about it... I too seem to have a lot of the pain at bed time. > > I unfortunately have had sarc in my spinal vertebrae, I have a terrific mattress on our bed but for some reason there are nights when I wake up from the spinal pain.
