Guest guest
Hello All, I am pleased to announce that Kenyon was brought into this world on Monday Sept. 13 at 3:19 PM. He weighed in at 9.1 lbs and 21 inches. My labor went smoothly and he did exceptionally well during it all. is doing wonderful and is already gaining back some of the normal weight loss. Even with his size he developed no jaundice and his blood sugars were always perfect. The pediatrician is very encouraged by this and his amazing strength and alertness for his age. Of course, it is early to say but it is looking very good that he has dodged the mito bullet. I, on the other hand, had to cause some problems. Even with an easy labor and delivery, and no other risk factors I developed an infection in my uterus. My doctor is baffled by its intensity and the reason for it happening. It definitely shattered our hopes of being able to return home on Wednesday and spending a week with little chaos. Finally my doctor mercifully released me Friday night with the expectation that I will be able to continue to heal using oral antibiotics instead of the IV form in the hospital. She has warned me that it will probably take a long time to recover, and I need to be extremely careful. I am in no pain, and a mother of 5, so it will be hard for me to try to stay as inactive as possible. My husband is wonderful and doing everything he possibly can to keep me sitting down. I just pray that these fevers go away soon. Every four hours I go from shivering from being so cold to sweating like I am running a marathon. My new two best friends are Motrin and Tylenol! Miss Grace and all the other children seem to be very happy with the new baby. Grace has shown absolutely no signs of jealousy, and adores her little brother. She is always saying "SHHH" when he is sleeping and tries to help with every diaper change. She was able to spend a lot of the time in the hospital with my husband and I so she has really been able to bond with him. I am sorry that I have no photos of him to post yet. Due to the fact that I had told everybody I knew that I would call them on Wednesday (and I was unable to call out from the hospital due to long distance). I am sure I have some pretty worried people out there. I will have some pictures up as soon as tomorrow. Thanks to all for your kind wishes and prayers. Guest guest
Congratulations!!!!! I am sure he is being loved and spoiled as he should be. I absolutely love babies too! I am sure it must be hard to sit most of the time, but try to take it easy because if you don't you will take much longer to recover and in the long run end up losing more energy. I was put on bed rest for 6 weeks with Asenath and know having five kids and being stuck in a chair or bed isn't easy, BUT it can be done! Take care and can't wait to see the little guy. Darla: mommy to Asenath (4) Mito, CNS Vasculitis, strokes, migraines, seizures, G-tube, hypotonicity, disautonomy,SID, dev. delays, asthma, chronic vomiting... Zipporrah (10 mon.)
