Guest guest
Pam, Kaiser does supply us with a 1200 calorie diet plan in the binder you get at orientation. If you need it now, you can get it from the files section on the group home page. gastric-bypass-support-kaiser-patients Ron ediets and 10% I'm strategizing about losing my 10% now. I know I neet a plan. Has anyone tried ediets to help lose the 10%. I emailed them and they do have a 1200-1300 calorie plan. I think if I have everything planned out it will be easier. It figures, I'm trying to lose weight at the most stressful time of the year. I do customer service for a big mail order firm and right after thanksgiving everything ramps up. Guest guest
I didn't do it for the 10 percent, but I've used them before...and it's good. You can go online for support, ask questions, keep charts...and have a very specific diet set forth for you. Good luck, Robynnazurewinds@... wrote: I'm strategizing about losing my 10% now. Guest guest
Pam I had my orientation Nov.16, 2004 and started the 1200 calorie diet Kaiser gives you in your binder the day of orientation. Followed was my birthday Nov. 22, Thanksgiving and Christmas on and on you know how that goes. I run a in home daycare and I do all the works, preschool, fieldtrips, Santa comes on and on, I can relate to how busy the holidays get and how stressful times get and preparing is a good thing. I don't think you should start trying to lose weight before orientation because this is your weigh in day, then you will need to lose 10%, and they will give you the 1200 calorie diet. Good Luck. Guest guest
That must have been really hard. I never had kids but I was a nanny for 20 years and I know how tempting it is to finish of those little bits leftover from preparing meals is. I thought I might start cutting down a little because I really over did it the last couple weeks eating things I won't be able to eat again. I've gained weight since my last doctors appt. Thanks for the good wishes, I'm really excited. Pam Re: ediets and 10% Pam I had my orientation Nov.16, 2004 and started the 1200 calorie diet Kaiser gives you in your binder the day of orientation. Guest guest
They are arguing with me now about the 1200 calories, they want me at twice that. I've used them before to. For me, having everything planned out is easier. Knowing exactly what I plan to eat helps me not snack. Also my mom lives with me and one of her ways of showing love is feeding people. So with a plan posted on the fridge it's easier to say no, I can't have that, it's not on the list. If ediets keeps resisting I'll just do it myself. Guest guest
Pam, Are you writing down every thing you eat and the calories. This makes a big difference. Don't try to lose any weight until you go to orientation and once you start the 1200 calorie diet. After orientation log every thing in the journal so you can see that you're losing or why you're not. This will help you, and we're here for you also. Guest guest
Thanks. I have started the 1200 calorie diet though because I went way overboard having farewell meals of everything that I wasn't supposed to have and gained so much weight that I'm uncomfortable behind the wheel of the car and my knees have started hurting. I have to lose that weight before I have to drive into ssf or the hours in the car are going to be torture. Guest guest
HI Pam, It will be about 4 to 5 months before you get your letter for orientation. The support group in Santa Clara brought up the subject at our last meeting. So there is plenty of time to undo what you have done. We all do things that aren't sometimes the wisest but don't beat yourself up about it and move forward. Ramona
Guest guest
Pam It's time to stop the farewell meals and just stick to the 1200 calorie diet. You have done your orientation already right? If so it's now time to just focus on the 1200 calorie and if you just keep eating the things because you're worried your going to miss them, then you will never get your 10% off. Come on stick to the 1200 calorie and write down everything and drink your water, and get some sort of exercise. You have to start some where. We are here for you. Hang in there and try to get on track. Donnaazurewinds@... wrote: Thanks. Guest guest
I haven't had my orientation at ssf yet, that will be soon because I got my acceptance letter a week ago. I know everyone says to wait to start losing until you get weighed officially but I just put too much on binging and am uncomfortable. Stupid to go so far overboard but done is done and I need to get it under control now. Thanks for your support Donna. Guest guest
That long? Wow. The acceptance letter made it sound like the appointments will come fast. That's actually good though. I can't ask for days off during the holiday season but afterward it won't be a problem. And I'll be totally over caffeine. I only had one 8 ounce cup at work today. That's down from a 2 liter a day, and I've replaced that with healthier drinks. I still have a problem drinking plain water, but I'm working on that too.
