Guest guest
Thank you for posts. They are just what this list needs. Help with research. I also want to thank for her offer of trying to find the articles on her computer at work. I have copied and pasted all the journal articles I have found references to and would love to see some of them. We need to use our time to fight the insurance companies on their own levels. We can fight them with knowledge or we can whine. My dh says to me, "I am going to take you to Wisconsin to get you some cheese with that whine." LOL. Also, thanks to Walter for taking the time to read this list and to offer us his knowledge. If the trend towards denial of this surgery grows then the post ops may be an elite group. A group that will bear watching as we "investigational/experimental" post ops will be the torch light for the future. We must do everything we can to stay healthy and maintain our weight loss just to prove to the insurance companies in the future that this is the "GOLD" standard in weight loss surgery. I remember when bone marrow transplants were considered experimental and only the wealthy few could afford the chance to save their loved ones. The hue and cry of experts changed the world of insurance in regards to that. But showing pictures of dying child that the transplant could have saved is better press than showing pictures of a morbidly obese person with our silent symptoms. I have been impressed by the knowledge of the members of this group. We can change the world as we know it. It may not happen overnight but if we stick together we can save one person at a time.
