, we use Zofran religiously for the nausea and my three Mito kids do very well with it. Just for your info for future reference.

Sheldon's tonsillectomy was Thursday. He came through the surgery

fine and did great until the local they put in with the surgery wore

off. He then spiked fevers and refused food and drink for 2 days but

we came home last night after he started doing better in the

afternoon. He's definitely feeling better today and loving sherbet.

It's so nice to have that over with.

Whenever he's in the hospital, someone invariably wants to give him

anti-nausea medication but I've so far avoided it, not knowing how

safe it would be with mito. Does anyone else have any experience with

it? Is it safe? This time I think the vomiting was only when his temp

went up rapidly so we didn't give him anything and he stopped

vomiting on his own.

Thanks.

Stacey,

I always request a medicine called Reglan to be given during surgery, this

is the only thing that has prevented alot of vomiting after surgery for me

and 2 of my girls. My daughter uses it for reflux, but it was something

that the hospital gave to me after 2 days of vomiting and it stopped it

within 5 minutes! Just my experience. Patti Weaver

Thanks everyone for the responses. It sounds like next time he's

in the hospital for vomiting we will have some options.
