cheryl: sounds like a very snug supportive girdle/binder/health belt

would do you a world of good until you have the hernia surgically

corrected. it would probably help with the pain you have while being

upright. maybe try putting it on while you are still lying down and

everything is in it's proper place. know what i mean?

mary:

i was told that a belt or girdle would do no good by a surgeon..does anyone have any more information on it..did you have a hernia and it worked for you?

i'd get a second opinion on that. support belts have been used for a

long time.

i do have a hernia at my belly button, for about 17 years i guess.

it only bothers me once in a while. but if it gets worse,i'll just

have it surgically fixed. and if it hurt before i could get surgery,

i would definitely wear a support belt.
