Guest guest
Does anyone have crockpot (or no crockpot-I'll take either) recipes for chicken broth or fish broth? Also, when do you remove the chicken meat from the chicken bones? Do you have any recipes you can share? How do you freeze it so that you can thaw it easily? I'd love any suggestions! Alyssa, didn't you have a recipe for making your chicken broth? When do you remove the meat? Thanks!
Guest guest
Does anyone have crockpot (or no crockpot-I'll take either) recipes for chicken broth or fish broth? I'm interested in a fish broth recipe as well. Also, when do you remove the chicken meat from the chicken bones? Do you have any recipes you can share? How do you freeze it so that you can thaw it easily?Freeze in ice cube trays. When it's frozen, pop them out into a baggie to store in the freezer. I'd love any suggestions! Alyssa, didn't you have a recipe for making your chicken broth? When do you remove the meat?I put just the chicken in the crock pot with some water for an hour or two, or until the meat is falling off the bone. Then I take it all out, pick off the meat, and return the 'junk' to the crock pot with some chunks of carrot, celery, onion, and any herbs you want. Hope that helps! Peace =)Alyssa 15 yoUC April 2008, dx Sept 2008SCD June 2009 (restarted)Chinese Herbs (not legal but helping!)

Guest guest
I save bones from chickens I have cooked for meals, cover with water in a stock pot and I usually cut up an onion and a stalk or two of celery. Don't cut the veggies small, it's too hard to remove them later! I think the best stock I have made lately was when the store had a great sale on chicken wings; this was hte most gelatinous of all. I simmer an hour or two, let cool at least to where I can handle it, remove bones and squishy veggies. I put any meat from the bones back into the broth and add new veggies for soup. I freeze in 1-2 cup containers.
