Guest guest
, I also had low bp, anemia, headaches, increased infections and strange temps as you have described after the births of my children. Just as stress in our mito kids can bring out the symptoms of mito in them, it can also bring it out in us to. I since have been diagnosed. Have you thought about trying to get them to give you IV fluid to see if that would help you? Hope you feel better soon, Dawn
Guest guest
I am sorry you have had to deal with so many issues along with taking care of the little one. I thought I would write to tell you something that has always seemed to help me when having back, shoulder, and neck pain. If you use an ice pack for 15-20 minutes with a thin towel between yourself and the ice pack every few hours (chiropractors say EVERY hour) on the soar spot in the back of the neck/shoulder blade area it usually will help loosen any knots present. This has always helped me and usually within one to two days max I feel much better. I actually need to follow the same advice as my bed has been causing pressure point pain in my left shoulder, hip, and knee. It has been getting worse daily and is becoming hard to walk as every step hurts. I have had a lot of back issues and the chiropractors that I have seen in the past (can't now due to finances) have all said my back is really screwed up. When I sit or lie only one hip touches the surface unless I lean toward one side. This is causing one leg to be longer and throws off my walking. I have dealt with pain so bad that I couldn't roll over or move a leg due to these issues last year. I had to slowly bear the pain to get up from bed, chair, or anywhere until I got smart and saw the chiropractor. It took a couple weeks for him to fix me half decent so I could move without pain, but was MUCH better even after the first visit. Sorry for the long note. I just wanted to let you know what helps me some. Hopefully something like this may help you. Giving birth may have just thrown something out of place. Guest guest
Hard to say . I know when my husband gets ill he feels it in his kidney areas and lower back. This last time he was ill (after the gang had hand, foot, mouth disease) his lower back was bothering him and he was tight in the muscles. He was taking a shower and stepped out of the tub and bent to pick up a towel and wham, he threw his back out. He literally couldn't bend over or get out of bed. I made him go to the doctor the next day and he got meds. A muscle relaxer. Have you tried icing the area first for 20 minutes? Then later the next day you could try heat. Moist heat works well. A suggestion I read was you take a towel, heat it up and put it in a plastic bag. You use moist heat for 20 minutes, also. Good luck and slowly after the heat you may want to stretch the muscles a bit. After the delivery of (11 days ago) I developed a severe uterine infection. The doctor still cannot explain this as I had no risk factors, and an easy delivery. Along with the infection came very high fevers (104+) which is completely abnormal for me, since I typically run about 96-97. The fevers were also "weird" because they came and went about every 4-6 hours, and I would drop to about 95 when the fever was down. Also my blood pressures have been REALLY low. I am always about 90/60, but in the hospital some were as low as 45/39. I also had a headache which lasted about a week (had it for two days before delivery also). My doctor mentioned that my labs were low. Obviously with the infection my white cells were high, but many other things were off as well. (I have always been anemic, but the doctor said my hemoglobin was even lower than normal for me, despite loosing very little blood with delivery) Now, for the past three days my neck has been killing me. It is not a typical "cold" in the neck as none of the muscles are actually tight. It feels more of a burning that goes from the back of my head all the way into my right shoulder. Motrin seems to help a little, but the relief is not lasting long. I have heard of many people taking about muscle pain following a virus/infection before. I was wondering if this sounds like this or not? I am reluctant to go to the doctor, as I know they will just want to give me a pain pill and send me on my way. (I am nursing so I do not want to take narcotics, even if they say they are safe.) Dr. Cohen and I have discussed the possibility of me having a mild form of mito before, due to my extensive and very unusual medical history. At that time we decided that treatment would probably not benefit me, and it was not worth the testing to find out. I am now starting to wonder if maybe I should be taking something. I have now seen what an infection can do to me and I worry about being able to take care of my kids if I continue to let this happen. Sorry this is long. Any suggestions would be helpful. PS I posted pictures of yesterday, and they have not appeared yet. I will re post them again if they do not go through today. Please contact mito-owner with any problems or questions.
