Guest guest
Hello All, I am normally asking questions regarding Grace, but now I am really thinking that some of my "life long issues" may be associated with mito. After the delivery of (11 days ago) I developed a severe uterine infection. The doctor still cannot explain this as I had no risk factors, and an easy delivery. Along with the infection came very high fevers (104+) which is completely abnormal for me, since I typically run about 96-97. The fevers were also "weird" because they came and went about every 4-6 hours, and I would drop to about 95 when the fever was down. Also my blood pressures have been REALLY low. I am always about 90/60, but in the hospital some were as low as 45/39. I also had a headache which lasted about a week (had it for two days before delivery also). My doctor mentioned that my labs were low. Obviously with the infection my white cells were high, but many other things were off as well. (I have always been anemic, but the doctor said my hemoglobin was even lower than normal for me, despite loosing very little blood with delivery) Now, for the past three days my neck has been killing me. It is not a typical "cold" in the neck as none of the muscles are actually tight. It feels more of a burning that goes from the back of my head all the way into my right shoulder. Motrin seems to help a little, but the relief is not lasting long. I have heard of many people taking about muscle pain following a virus/infection before. I was wondering if this sounds like this or not? I am reluctant to go to the doctor, as I know they will just want to give me a pain pill and send me on my way. (I am nursing so I do not want to take narcotics, even if they say they are safe.) Dr. Cohen and I have discussed the possibility of me having a mild form of mito before, due to my extensive and very unusual medical history. At that time we decided that treatment would probably not benefit me, and it was not worth the testing to find out. I am now starting to wonder if maybe I should be taking something. I have now seen what an infection can do to me and I worry about being able to take care of my kids if I continue to let this happen. Sorry this is long. Any suggestions would be helpful. PS I posted pictures of yesterday, and they have not appeared yet. I will re post them again if they do not go through today.
