Guest guest
The nqme of the blood test is ANCA ANCA (Anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody) The ANCA (anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody) are proteins often occurring in certain types of vasculitis. Vasculitis is a condition that results in inflammation of the blood vessel wall. If untreated, the blood vessel can potentially block off because of the inflammation, and tissue supplied by that blood vessel may be damaged or die. The c-ANCA test commonly occurs in patients with Wegener’s granulomatosis and the p-ANCA commonly in patients with microscopic polyarteritis nodosa. I had never heard of this test and I worked in a physicians office for many years. Has anyone else heard of it? Judy in PA
