Dr. Welker has distinguished himself by being a standout in

championing patients' causes in seeking approval from reluctant

insurance companies.

In addition, he is the most savvy person I've come across in

understanding what's what with health care insurance as it

relates to Bariatric Surgery.

The guy is amazing. No, make that awesome! We couldn't have

a stronger advocate steering the Insurance Committee for the

ASBS. As a bonus, Walter Lindstrom is on the committee as

well. I'm psyched about this.
