I all. Since my cataract surgery several weeks ago, I can't see my

computer very well. When I get the other eye done in the end of May,

and new glasses, I will be on-line again. My thoughts are with you all.

It's a bugger when that Near vision is not available! Have you tried going in and changing the font so that it reads in larger print?

Take care, and I know you will enjoy the new eyes when it's all done!

Hi, . It's good to hear from you, altho I'm sorry about the difficulty you are having. How long ago did you have the surgery, and have you seen your doctor for a post-op exam yet? Everyone is different, but I know that my vision was clear on the first day, after both surgeries. I do have to wear reading glasses for small print, but otherwise my vision is great. I wonder if you should give your surgeon a call & make sure that this is in the realm of normal.

Hi Rose. Yeah I spoke to the surgeon. He said it is normal. My old eye

is so different from my new eye that I can't use my glasses and I have

a corrective lens in the new eye which eliminated my near vision.

After my other eye is done and I have reading glasses I'll be fine.

The distance vision in my new eye is great! So I'm not too worried.

It's just curtailing some of my vision-related activities for now.

Cheers,

When the lens of the eye is removed due to cataracts- we lose the ability to see up close. so reading becomes a challenge until we get those "readers."

One thing that the MD can do is to put a "plano" lense into the glass frames and remove the prescription lense you have on that side of your glasses for now.

A "plano" is just a piece of lense that has no power at all-- but still would keep the glasses balanced so that you can use the other lense until you get the surgery finished on that eye also.

It sure helps for those who need to read-- my sis would shoot me for not remembering to tell her this option --she just had cataract surgery about 6 wks ago, and was so lost without the near vision. (Oops.)

Take care,
