Guest guest
I have a major problem with worrying about food. I found out last spring through a blood test and skin prick test that I'm allergic to most nuts. However, I continue to eat the ones that don't seem to bother me. But every time I do, in the back of my mind, I wonder if this will be the time that I go in to full blown anaphylaxis. So the great SCD pizza experiment had mixed results. It was very tasty, so tasty that I ate 3 tiny pieces (about the equivalent of 1 regular pizza slice). When I entered this on fitday, I found that this was a whopping 532 calories, with 43g of fat! So it wasn't a surprise that I woke up this morning with a stomach ache (which has lingered the whole day) and some heartburn. I think my lack of a gallbladder made my body a bit unhappy with this sudden deluge of fat (plus, I had butter on my green beans and lemon curd for dessert, which is super rich with all the butter in it). I also thought the roof of my mouth felt a little numb/odd. My almond paranoia coming into play, something in the tomato sauce, or just my crazy mind making things up? So, I'll try pizza again, just at a much smaller quantity. Hopefully it will go over better then. And for the person that asked what sauce I used, I'm reluctant to say. Someone at pecanbread says they have a letter, but I have not seen the letter, so I don't know whether they asked all the needed questions. I'd hate to recommend a sauce as SCD legal and have it set off a flair for someone if it turns out to be not-so-SCD-legal. I plan on requesting my own letter, and will share it once I receive it. Holly Crohn's SCD 12/01/08 > > > Just be careful not to go crazy thinking about " omg i'm eating this and it might have an effect " i've eaten plenty of store bought items like bacon, cheeses, tomatoe paste, crushed tomatoes ect. and never had a reaction. O recently bought cento brand organic chunky style crushed tomatoes with basil. Taste is good and no reaction. Same with most brands of crushed tomatoes with basil. Makes a decent pizza sauce too ( not the chunky style though) > > I'm just saying don't psych yourself out! or at least try not to... good luck! > > - > UC - 1+ years > SCD - 7 months 100% strict and 4 months restricted diet. > Asacol - 5 pills a day >
